Breakfast with Santa

The Breakfast with Santa event was alot of fun. The first time I attended this event was in 2003 when I was Miss Hawaii USA. It was so nice to be invited back again to help out. Monies raised at this event went to help the Prevent Child Abuse program. This is one of the biggest events for the organization each year!

Waipio Christmas Parade

Each year our girls are invited to ride in the Waipio Community Christmas parade. I was able to stop by and get the girls all set up before take off. I unfortunately was unable to ride in the parade because I had agreed to attend the Prevent Child Abuse Breakfast with Santa event. So I left immediately after the parade started to head off to the next event!

My visit to ARCADIA nursing home

On November 20, I was able to be a special guest at the ARCADIA nursing home in Honolulu. I was there with Miss Teen Hawaii-World Alyssa Reyes and Lindsey Baryuga Miss Teen Hawaii. They did an awesome Hula and Tahitian dance while I emceed.

My Visit to Washington and Oregon

In November I traveled to Washington and Oregon for a business trip. While I was there I got to spend some time with Mrs. Washington Carla Richards. We had a fabulous dinner and I got to meet her family. Then I traveled down to Portland where I attended an awards dinner for EDI and got to meet SURVIVOR runner up and most loved Character, Yau-Man Chan.

Grand Opening Pablo's Cantina

I was so honored to be invited to attend the pre-Grand opening of Pablo's Cantina in Ward Center. The owner's mother was the very first Mrs. Hawaii. Mannon Smith was there on hand to greet guest along with entertainment by Rolando Sanchez. It was a very fun evening not to mention the food is great! Enjoy the photos.

Filming of a PSA for MDA

I was so thrilled when former Mrs. Hawaii Aulii called and asked if I would be a part of the Muscular Dystrophy Association's PSA for their Lucky We Live Hawaii Pau Hana Concert, which will be held on November 5th at the Honolulu Hale.
Some of you have already seen the PSA on air. So I guess I am a little behind in giving you all a sneak preview.
Check out the video and photos from the shoot!

Children and Youth Day at the State Capitol

On October 3rd I had the honor of hosting part of the entertainment at the Children and Youth Day. Families and children of all ages gathered to celebrate and enjoy games, rides, activities and entertainment. I got to congratulate the Little League World Series champions and ran into Lt. Governor Duke Aiona again.
It was an endearing moment to see thousands of families enjoy themselves and support all of the local, state and national agencies that help to keep our children safe and healthy!

ISPCAN International Conference

On September 27th I had the honor of helping at the International Congress on Child Abuse and Neglect. It was held at the Hawaii Convention Center and over 700 people from around the world attended this event! I was amazing to see all these individuals come together to attend sessions on keeping children safe in so many ways!
I spoke to someone from Russia who shared a story of some attendees that came from the Middle East. Only recently the countries have started to openly talk about child abuse and are taking action to put a stop to it! Absolutely amazing experience!

Aloha Week Parade

I am a little behind on my posts but I wanted to share some photos from the Aloha Week Floral Parade on September 18th! We had so much fun decorating the car, which was loaned to us by Mercedes! This is a new convertible model for the E350! Beautiful!
The most amazing part of the parade was seeing the hundreds of people gathered to watch one of the biggest parades the state produces!
What a great experience! Brock enjoyed the ride too!

My Mrs America experience

So I fell a little behind on my posts at Mrs. America! On day 4 my husband called and told me that my son was very sick and that they were not coming to the pageant! The call came right after my interview, which I though went really well!
So trying to keep a positive attitude I went on with the competition worried sick about poor Brock!
Although my boys were not able to come to the pageant, I still had the support of my director Luana, Aunt Olene from Fresno along with Cirina and Kirk Culberson from Phoenix, who came to cheer me on! Thank you!
I did not take home the crown of Mrs America but I am still honored to return home as Mrs. Hawaii, an accomplishment I am very proud of! Our new Mrs. America Shelly from Connecticut is a sweetheart and I am sure she will capture the hearts of all who she meets during her year!
Here are some photos of the last couple of days at Mrs. America!
